The successful first meeting of AmCham’s new, national-level Consumer Safety Assurance Committee was held at Grand Hyatt Hotel Guangzhou on December 9. The Committee’s members include senior leaders from across China representing U.S., European, Chinese and other multinational companies, as well as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The Committee is additionally already working with representatives of the various regulatory bodies of the Chinese government.
Four experts in consumer safety assurance area were elected to be the chair and co-chairs of the committee. They are:
Mr. Harley Seyedin, President, The American Chamber of Commerce in South China (Chair)
Dr. David Peng, CEO, Beijing Brightao Business Consulting (Co-Chair)
Mr. Charles Hubbs, Director, Guangzhou Fortunique (Co-Chair)
Mr. Terence Chen, External Affairs Director, Mead Johnson Nutritionals (Co-Chair)
