5th Terry Fox Run

Held on November 24^th, 2007, celebrating the 27^th anniversary of the original “Marathon of Hope”, Guangzhou’s “5^th Annual Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research” was held at Luhu Golf & Country Club on a bright Saturday morning. Over 5,500 people, young and old, participated in this year’s run in a touching display of community solidarity and spirit. As a Co-organizer, The American Chamber of Commerce in South China fielded a team of more than 30, including AmCham executives, their parents and their children, to show the Chamber’s support for this great cause.

Named after the eponymous young Canadian and having achieved global recognition and participation, Terry Fox Runs are now the largest single-day fund raiser for cancer research worldwide. In 2004, “Marathons of Hope” had been held in 4,100 locations across 51 countries.
