Our Chamber, through its IPR Committee, has for many years led the way in helping to bring about effective IPR protection in China. We have recently published this policy watch on Intellectual Property Courts and Judicial Reform in China, aiming at providing our members with the most recent progress in the field. The publication is now available for download for free on our official website.

While China has made substantial progress in the areas of legislation and enforcement, we are highly encouraged by China’s recent decision to establish intellectual property courts in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. This is a move that will have a significant impact on the adjudication of IPR disputes in China. With more than 90% of IPR cases filed involving Chinese companies against Chinese companies, we believe the establishment of intellectual property courts will benefit foreign and Chinese companies alike.
