AmCham South China’s 2023 CIFIT Delegation to Boost Global Economic and Trade Cooperation – AmCham President, Dr. Harley Seyedin to Join Panel on Digital Economy at UN Asia-Pacific Innovation Forum and Keynote at the 22nd World Business Leaders Roundtable

XIAMEN, CHINA – September 7, 2023 – The award-winning American Chamber of Commerce in South China (AmCham South China) delegation, led by the Chamber’s President Dr. Harley Seyedin, arrived in Xiamen yesterday to attend the 23rd China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT). The delegation, in its twentieth year, is comprised of senior business leaders, including executives from world-renowned enterprises. This year over 50 companies have joined the delegation.

AmCham South China’s CIFIT delegation, at the invitation of the Investment Promotion Agency of MOFCOM, will attend a series of high-level themed conferences that focus on green and low-carbon development and global cooperation, and meetings with government leaders from Fujian, Hebei and Jiangxi provinces that allow for more focused and personalized interactions.

AmCham President, Dr. Harley Seyedin will speak on a Panel on Digital Economy at the UN Asia-Pacific Innovation Forum. The Forum is being co-organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies. CEOs of foreign direct investors, CEOs of investment promotion agencies, representatives from governments in Asia and the Pacific, academic institutions, international organizations, business councils and chambers, other members of the private sector, and the media will be in attendance. Dr. Seyedin will also Keynote at the 22nd World Business Leaders Roundtable.

 

Dr. Harley Seyedin, President of AmCham South China, winner of 2017 Oslo Business for Peace Award (together with Elon Musk, Durreen Shahnaz and Murad Al-Katib), which is awarded by an Award Committee of Nobel Laureates in Peace and Economics, said, “As the golden key for China’s opening up to the outside world, CIFIT serves as a bridge and bond of communication between the country and the rest of the world. This annual grand event provides valuable opportunities for investors to connect with potential investment projects, explore new markets, and establish partnerships.”
 

President Harley added that AmCham South China’s CIFIT delegation has made tremendous achievements over the past 19 years and its members have achieved huge business success at CIFIT for many years. “We attribute the success of our delegation to the excellent organization and the high-quality arrangement and service provided by the CIFIT Organizing Committee. I would like to extend my congratulations to MOFCOM, the Investment Promotion Agency of MOFCOM, Xiamen and Fujian leaders, and the CIFIT Organizing Committee for undertaking and delivering the highest level of professional excellence,” Dr. Seyedin said.
