AmCham South China Delegation Returns for More Success at its Twenty-Third CIFIT in Xiamen
XIAMEN, CHINA – September 7, 2026 – The award-winning American Chamber of Commerce in South China (AmCham South China) delegation, led by the Chamber’s President Dr. Harley Seyedin, arrived in Xiamen today to attend the 26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT). Marking its 23rd consecutive year at the event, the delegation comprises C-suite executives and senior decision-makers from globally renowned corporations, including Nike, Johnson & Johnson, Pepsi, doTERRA, and Allway – once again underscoring the Chamber’s unwavering commitment to this premier international investment event.
This year’s CIFIT carries special significance as Guangdong takes the spotlight as the guest province of honor. Reflecting on the Chamber’s enduring partnership with the Fair, Dr. Seyedin remarked: “CIFIT has long served as the golden key to China’s high-level opening-up, offering global investors an essential gateway to understand the Chinese market and discover opportunities. With Guangdong as the guest province of honor, our participation this year is especially meaningful. It highlights the deep-rooted and mutually beneficial economic ties between American enterprises and one of China’s most vibrant regions.”
Over the three-day event, the delegation will engage in a series of high-level conferences and meetings with government leaders. Key activities include a site visit to Nine Rivers Distillery in Longyan city, Fujian province – the first and only wholly foreign-owned distillery in China that crafts spirits across all categories – and attendance at the China Provinces-U.S. States Economic and Trade Cooperation Seminar, where Dr. Seyedin will deliver remarks on advancing sub-national collaboration.
Nine Rivers Distillery stands as a landmark achievement of the Chamber’s investment facilitation efforts. In 2019, with active support from AmCham South China and relevant government agencies in Fujian province, the company formally signed a multi-year RMB 150 million investment agreement with the Longyan municipal government during CIFIT. Located in Xinluo district, the project is expected to generate meaningful employment and stimulate economic growth in rural Fujian.
“We are proud to have played a pivotal role in bringing this historic investment to Longyan – a world heritage destination that perfectly embodies the harmony between premium manufacturing and sustainable tourism,” Dr. Seyedin added. “Our goal has always been to channel American investment into regions that offer both business potential and quality of life, and Longyan is a shining example.”
Drawing on data from the Chamber’s independently released 2026 Special Report on the State of Business in South China, President Harley highlighted the vital role of CIFIT in fostering two-way cooperative relationships: “CIFIT has consistently provided us with an unparalleled opportunity to build sustainable, win-win partnerships with our Chinese counterparts. The data speaks for itself – 77% of our member companies focus on providing goods or services for the Chinese market. 45% rank China as their top global investment priority, and 75% plan to reinvest in China this year. Collectively, our members have earmarked an estimated US$13.79 billion from profits in China for reinvestment over the next three to five years. That is a clear vote of confidence in the resilience and potential of this market.”
He further noted that AmCham South China’s CIFIT delegation has made tremendous achievements over the past 22 years and its members have achieved huge business success at CIFIT for many years. “We attribute the success of our delegation to the excellent organization and the high-quality arrangement and service provided by the CIFIT Organizing Committee. I would like to extend my congratulations to MOFCOM, the Investment Promotion Agency of MOFCOM, Xiamen and Fujian leaders, and the CIFIT Organizing Committee for their outstanding professionalism in delivering yet another world-class investment fair,” Dr. Seyedin said.
