Trump or Biden,
Washington will seek
a “results-oriented
relationship” with Beijing

By Dr. James Eric Black
Chair, Mercer University Department of Journalism and Media Studies

With the outcome of the US presidential election still up in the air, it is
becoming more and more clear we can look forward to an improved
relationship between US and China going forward. This became further
evident by a statement from U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Robert W. Forden and
a WeChat post on Friday, November 6th by the US Embassy in Beijing.
“Talking to each other is the best way to understand each other,”. “Whatever
the outcome of the US election, the United States would continue to push for
a fair and reciprocal relationship with China and that there is widespread
and consistent bipartisan support for current US policies towards China.”
