with Baker McKenzie about Corporate
Compliance THrough the Lens of Labor Law

OSouth China partnered
with Baker McKenzie to host
a seminar on "Enterprise
Compliance from the
Perspective of Labor Law:
False Reimbursement
and Outsourcing Labor
Dispute Response" at
the Crowne Plaza Hotel
in Nanshan, Shenzhen.
This event gathered many
law professionals and
businessmen to explore
the growing trends of labor
compliant issues within many
businesses in China.
The seminar opened with Governor of AmCham
South China Dr. David Peng's personal journey
from Hong Kong, to the UK, and USA, where he
emphasized how legal clarity and transparency
is crucial for any company. He mentioned how
compliance is no longer optional but foundational
for any potentially or already successful and
credible business. Dr. David Peng also extended
his gratitude to the guest speakers from the
Baker Mckenzie Shanghai of昀椀ce.

In the first session Ms. Zheng Lu and
Ms. Shang Xufei discussed real
life cases the Baker McKenzie
firm has previously handled. They
introduced the three types of common
reimbursement frauds. They also
provided methods on how false
reimbursements can be handled, from
collecting evidence and employer
actions, to getting the court's final
judgement for an executive decision
on the false reimbursement.
