1 Gala dinner: the launch of Emirates new
July flights from Shenzhen to Dubai
he Emirates Airline Shenzhen New Route
TGala Dinner was grandly held at the Qianhai
International Conference Center in Shenzhen on
July 1. Hosted by Emirates under the theme “Daily
Non-stop Flights, Inspiring New Possibilities for
Cross-Border Travel”, the event celebrated the
of昀椀cial launch of the Shenzhen–Dubai direct route.
Harley Seyedin, President of AmCham South China
was invited to attend and witness this milestone.
The evening unfolded as a cross-cultural artistic
feast: pianist Lang Lang delivered a captivating
performance and joined his wife Gina Alice for a
moving four-hand duet; Poetic Dance: The Journey
of a Legendary Landscape Painting brought Song
Dynasty landscapes vividly to life; Thousand-
Hand Bodhisattva conveyed the spirit of harmony
and unity; and singer Angela Chang’s pure voice
celebrated dreams and journeys. Emirates now
connects Shenzhen to the world, opening a new
chapter for international exchange and cooperation.

izConnect · Building the Future Together, co-hosted
Bby Guangzhou CCPIT, Yuexiu District Government,
and the U.S. Commercial Service, gathered over 40
leading American and Guangzhou companies, including
Oracle, Coca-Cola, P昀椀zer, and XPeng Motors. As the
second major event under the China–U.S. Commercial
Matchmaking Program (CMP) this year, it featured
site visits, cultural experiences, policy brie昀椀ngs, and
networking, providing a practical platform to enhance
China–U.S. business cooperation.

noted that the Chamber—one of the largest American
chambers in China with over 2,300 member companies

昀氀ows—has named Guangzhou a top investment

destination for foreign business in its Special Report on
the State of Business in South China. He emphasized
leveraging the “BizConnect” platform with Guangzhou
CCPIT to boost U.S. investment in green energy,
biotechnology, and advanced manufacturing, while
supporting Guangzhou enterprises in exploring
opportunities in the US. The event reinforced American
companies’ con昀椀dence in Guangzhou’s growth
potential and deepened bilateral economic ties.

he Consulate General of France in Guangzhou
Thosted its Bastille Day Reception at The Ritz-
Carlton, Guangzhou on July 14, welcoming over
700 guests from government, diplomatic, business,
cultural, and academic circles, including Harley
Seyedin, President of AmCham South China. This
year’s celebration was especially signi昀椀cant, marking
the 50th anniversary of China–EU diplomatic
relations and following the successful UN Ocean
Conference in Nice. In his remarks, Consul General
Sylvain Fournier highlighted the importance of the
French Republic’s core values amid global challenges
and noted the vitality of bilateral cooperation across
the consulate’s jurisdiction.
