here with a shared purpose: to build bridges, not walls. To foster cooperation, not competition,¡± Dr. Seyedin
said, framing the tone of the event.
Drawing on the chamber¡¯s 30 years of work as an independent voice for business in the region, Dr.
Seyedin emphasized the powerful role of subnational cooperation. ¡°While discussions of national trade
policies often dominate headlines, the real, tangible work of economic growth happens right here?at the
subnational level. It is in the factories of Ohio and Jiangsu, the tech hubs of California and Guangdong, and
the agricultural heartlands of Iowa and Heilongjiang.¡±
AmCham South China, representing more than 2,300 member companies that account for nearly 40%
of U.S.-China business, has long been a catalyst for pragmatic cooperation. Over the decades, its work
has contributed to tens of billions of dollars in bilateral trade and investment, made possible in large part
through enduring partnerships with government and organizations.
Let our discussions be open, our proposals be pragmatic,
and our agreements be actionable. Together, we can
achieve truly green and mutually-beneficial development
for all our citizens
